Have you ever wondered what all the hype is around Magic: The Gathering but didn't know where to start? Interested in exploring the realm of Magic but too intimidated to learn? Or maybe you have been easily overwhelmed in the past by all the heavy jargon...
Come learn the world's most popular TCG (Trading Card Game) in a relaxed, friendly environment! We'll be hosting bi-weekly casual Magic nights, specifically geared towards beginners and casual players. This program will evolve as our community does, and we are so excited to be hosting!
We have TWO formats available to pick from: Jumpstart and Commander!
JUMPSTART | Skill Level: Absolute Newbie
With the help from staff and other members in our community, learn the most accessible Magic: The Gathering format, Jumpstart! This is easily the best and most beginner friendly format for new Magic players.
This format is a new way to pick up and play Magic. Choose two themed boosters, shuffle them together, and unleash epic combos. Skip the deck building and jump right into battle! Jumpstart is a beginner-friendly, multiplayer format, and one designed almost entirely for fun, instead of getting that competitive thrill.
COMMANDER | Skill Level: Rookie Beginner +
With the help from staff and other members in our community, learn the most popular Magic: The Gathering format, Commander! Also known as Elder Dragon Highlander (EDH), Commander is a format where players use 100-card decks, with each card (except basic lands) appearing no more than once.
Commander is a multiplayer format, and one designed almost entirely for fun, instead of getting that competitive thrill. The format is primarily played with four players, each with their own deck, but can be played in groups of 2-6! It allows players to indulge in political scheming, meta-games, and countless other things that aren’t really viable in other formats.
Don't have a Commander deck? We have various, pre-constructed Commander decks available for purchase in-store! And our staff are happy to guide you towards deck that suits your play style.
All skill levels are welcome! Please note, for first time players, please choose the 'JUMPSTART' variant - you will be going home with a 40-card deck.
