Lateness and Attendance Policy for RPG Events

At our RPG (Role-Playing Game) events, punctuality and attendance are crucial to ensure smooth gameplay and an enjoyable experience for all participants. The following policy outlines the expectations for lateness and attendance:

  1. Timeliness: All participants are expected to arrive on time for the scheduled RPG event. The designated start time for the event should be adhered to, and players should make reasonable efforts to arrive promptly. Lateness disrupts the flow of the game and can inconvenience other players.

  2. Notification: If a participant knows in advance that they will be unable to attend a scheduled event, they should notify the event organizer or store as early as possible. This allows for proper planning and adjustments to be made. Notification of lateness or absence can be sent via email (gm@lvlupgames.ca) or phone call (289-444-0147).

  3. Tolerance for Lateness: While punctuality is expected, the group may allow a grace period of no more than 15 minutes for latecomers. After this grace period, the event may start without the late participant. The GM and other players should not be expected to delay the start of the game for latecomers.

  4. Catching Up: If a participant arrives late to an RPG event, they should make every effort to catch up with the current game state before actively joining the gameplay. The GM and other players are not responsible for repeating or summarizing what has already occurred during the session.

  5. Consequences for Frequent Lateness or Absences: Frequent or repeated lateness or absences may disrupt the continuity of the RPG campaign and impact the experience of other players. Therefore, the GM or event organizer may impose consequences, such as loss of character progression or exclusion from future events, for participants who consistently fail to meet the attendance expectations.

  6. Real-life Emergencies: In case of unforeseen emergencies or unavoidable circumstances that prevent a participant from attending a scheduled RPG event, they should notify the GM or event organizer as soon as possible. The GM and other players will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such situations.

  7. Respect for Others: All participants should be respectful of each other's time and effort in attending RPG events. This includes being considerate of the GM's preparation and the other players' commitment to the game. Participants should strive to attend RPG events regularly and be punctual to ensure a positive gaming experience for all.

It is important to review and understand this lateness and attendance policy for recurring RPG events. By adhering to these guidelines, we can create a respectful and enjoyable gaming environment for all participants!
